Collection: Back to School

The return to school asks a lot of a child's body before it asks anything of their mind. Sitting still on a hard chair. Holding a pencil for longer than the hand is ready for. Managing noise, queues, transitions and a timetable that changes every hour. For children with sensory processing differences, the first weeks of term are usually the hardest weeks of the year.

This collection brings together the supports we are asked for most as term begins:

  • Sitting and focus — wobble cushions, weighted lap pads and quiet corner supports that give the body the input it needs so attention can go elsewhere.
  • Chewing and fidgeting — discreet chewies and fidgets that meet the need without disrupting the classroom.
  • Handwriting and fine motor — pencil grips, handwriting weights, loop scissors and reading guides for children whose hands are still catching up with what is being asked of them.
  • Routines and feelings — visual schedules and emotion cards that make the school day predictable and give a child words for a hard morning.
  • After school — body socks, weighted blankets and vests for the decompression that has to happen once the bag is down.
