• A shoulder wrap should be around 5% of the user's body weight, and never more than 10%. At 1.7 kg this suits someone of roughly 34 kg and above.
• Short, scheduled wear rather than continuous.
• The user must be able to take it off themselves.
• Never over the head or face, and never during sleep.
• Watch for signs of discomfort and remove it straight away if you see any — pulling at it, flushed skin, sweating, restlessness, or a change in mood or behaviour. Someone who cannot tell you in words will show you.
• Check the seams regularly and withdraw it if any bead escapes.
• Wash at 30°C. Air dry.
