Stretchable Compression Sheet

• Pressure from stretch, not from weight - the harder a child pushes, the more it pushes back, so they control it themselves
• No weight limit to calculate. Nothing to work out against body weight before you use it
• It cannot slide off the bed in the night, because it is fixed over the mattress - the usual reason a weighted blanket stops working by 2am
• A single thin layer, so it adds almost no warmth. The better choice for a child who wants pressure but overheats

• Let your child practise getting in and out a few times while you are in the room, before the first night

No assembly required. Slide the sheet over the mattress the way you would a pillowcase, with the open end at the head of the bed. Your child then gets in underneath it.

Before the first night, have your child get in and out a few times while you are in the room, so you can both see that they can free themselves easily and so the sensation is familiar before it is dark.

Most children use it on its own in an air-conditioned room. Start with the sheet alone and add other bedding only if your child asks for it.

• Children with sensory processing differences, ADHD or autism
• Children who kick off a weighted blanket, or who find one too warm or too heavy
• Restless sleepers who move constantly and wake themselves doing it
• Home calm-down spaces, and after-school decompression before homework

• The child must be able to get out of the sheet on their own, without help. Check this with them before the first night.
• Never over the head or face. The sheet goes over the body only.
• This is not a restraint and must never be used as one.
• Not suitable for children under 5, or for infants and toddlers.
• Supervise the first few uses, and stay within earshot afterwards.
• Do not use with a child who cannot reposition themselves, cannot free themselves unaided, or cannot tell you they want it off, without advice from their own doctor or therapist.
• Check with a doctor or therapist first for any child with breathing difficulties, seizures, low muscle tone, reflux or a heart condition.
• Do not combine with a weighted blanket unless a therapist has advised it.
• Inspect the fabric and seams regularly. Stop using it if the fabric tears, thins or loses its stretch.
