Setup & Installation
No assembly required. Unpack the pit, set it on a flat, level floor and tip in the balls.
If the foam has been compressed for shipping, allow it 24 hours to recover its full shape before use.
Allow roughly half a metre of clear floor around the pit so children can climb in and out safely, and keep it away from radiators, glass and table corners. The pit is light enough to move between rooms, so it does not have to live in one place.

Safety Guidelines
- Adult supervision is required at all times during use.
- Use on a flat, level floor with clear space around the pit. Keep away from stairs, glass, radiators and sharp edges.
- No diving, jumping in from height, or climbing on the walls. The walls are cushioning, not a platform.
- Check the balls regularly and remove any that are cracked or split - a broken ball has sharp edges and can shed small pieces.
- Inspect the cover before each session. Take the pit out of use if the vinyl is torn or a seam has opened, as exposed foam is a choking risk.
- Clean the balls on a regular schedule in shared settings. A ball pit collects whatever is on children's hands, shoes and faces.

Are the balls included?
The pit is not supplied with a set of plastic play balls.
What age is it suitable for?
It is designed for toddlers and young children, with adult supervision at all times. The 50 cm wall height is low enough for a small child to climb in and out without help, which matters more than it sounds - a child who can get out on their own is a child who stays regulated. Older children still use ball pits happily, but they will have less room to move at this size.
How many children can play in it at once?
At 150 cm across, the pit comfortably takes two to three young children playing together, or one child lying down with room to move. For a therapy session it is usually best used by one child at a time, so the adult can see what the child is doing and the child is not managing other people as well as the sensory input.
Is a ball pit actually useful in therapy, or is it just play?
Both, and the play is part of why it works. Moving through a pit full of balls gives constant deep pressure and resistance across the whole body, which many children find organising - it is one of the few pieces of equipment a child will stay in long enough to get a real dose of that input. Climbing in and out builds strength and motor planning, and the pit makes a natural container for turn-taking, hide and find, and colour sorting games. It is also a useful calm-down space, because a child can sink into it and be partly out of sight without being shut away.
How do I clean the pit and the balls?
Wipe the foam walls with mild soap and warm water and dry them fully. Do not use alcohol wipes, hand sanitiser or solvent cleaners on the vinyl - these are what make it go brittle and split at the seams.
For the balls, lift them out, wash in warm soapy water, rinse and air dry fully before returning them. In a clinic or nursery this is worth doing on a set schedule rather than when someone notices; in a home, every few weeks is usually enough. Check for cracked or split balls each time and take those out.
