A padded 40 x 30 x 30 cm cube with 100 fiber optic strands, two metres each. The padded seat protects the light source while providing a place to sit and experience the lights.

Heat sealed ends mean a child can hold the strands, wrap them round their hands and bury their fingers in them. Visual and tactile input at the same time. RF remote and app control, 16W RGBW light engine.

  • The strands are safe to hold and wrap. Heat sealed ends and no heat in the fibre itself, so a child can bury their hands in them. Visual and tactile input at once.
  • Use a single slow color, not the full cycle. Fast changing color is stimulating. For calming, pick one color and leave it. The app makes that easy to set and forget.
  • Put a mirror beside it. It doubles the effect and makes a small corner read as a room.

Setup & Installation
  • Place the cube in a corner so the strands fall along the walls rather than across a walkway.
  • Route the power cable behind furniture and out of reach. A trailing cable in a sensory room is the main hazard here.
  • Controlled by RF remote or by app. Set it up once and leave the remote with whoever runs the room.
  • Works best with the room lights low or off.

Safety Guidelines
  • Ask your child's doctor before using any color changing light if your child has epilepsy or has ever had a seizure. Use a single steady color at low brightness rather than a fast cycle.
  • Adult supervision. Two meter strands are long enough to wrap around a neck, so this is not equipment to leave a child alone with.
  • Not suitable for children under 3 years.
  • Keep the power cable behind furniture, taped down or out of reach. Never run it across a walkway.
  • Check the strands for breaks. Retire any strand where the sealed end has been cut or has come away.
  • Switch it off at the wall when the room is not in use.
